§ 6-16.1. Building permit and certificate of appropriateness.

  • In addition to any other circumstances in which a building permit may be required, it shall be unlawful for any person to make any material change in the exterior appearance of any existing building classified as historic under the provisions of the Historic District Ordinance of the City of Fitzgerald, Ordinance No. 1093, approved March 12, 1990, as amended (the "historic district ordinance"), by additions, reconstructions or alterations of such building or by the painting or other application of colored materials (whether or not such represents a change in the existing color) of any exterior architectural feature (as defined in the historic district ordinance) thereof, without first obtaining a building permit for the same from the City of Fitzgerald, and no such building permit shall be issued without there first having been issued a certificate of appropriateness under the applicable provisions of the historic district ordinance.
