§ 18-5. Gambling and gambling places.

It shall be unlawful for any person either by himself or his agent to keep or maintain within the city any gaming house or room occupied or controlled by him whether directly or indirectly or to permit persons to come together and play for money or other valuable things at any game of chance by whatever name called or to carry on or to permit to be carried on at any place within the city any device or practices for the purpose of gambling. It shall be unlawful for any person within the city to play or bet for money or anything of value at any game of cards or other game of chance.
