(A) - General definitions.

    Certain words and terms are defined as follows:

    (a)

    Words used in the present tense include the future; words in the singular number include the plural; and words in the plural number include the singular; and the word "shall" is mandatory.

    (b)

    Other words used in this regulation are defined as follows:

    (i)

    Alley. A required thoroughfare which affords only a secondary means of access to abutting property, and which is twenty (20) feet or more in width.

    (ii)

    Cul-de-sac. Generally refers to a dead-end street where there is room for a vehicle to turn at a circular end.

    (iii)

    Street. A public thoroughfare, including pavement, twenty-four (24) feet or more wide. Where title of land extends to the center of a street, the margins of the easement or right-of-way shall be considered as the side lines of a street. The term street shall include avenue, drive, circle, lane, place, road, as they are generally understood. The term does not include an alley.

    (iv)

    Subdivision. The division of a lot, tract, or parcel of land into four (4) or more lots, plats, sites, or other divisions of land for the purpose, whether immediate or future, of sale or building development for purposes other than agricultural. It includes re-subdivision, and when appropriate to the context, relates to the process of subdividing or to the land subdivided.
